Selon les donn\u00e9es d'Euromonitor, la taille du march\u00e9 mondial des aliments pour animaux de compagnie \u00e9tait de 87,765 milliards USD en 2017 et a augment\u00e9 \u00e0 114,942 milliards USD en 2021, \u00e0 un TCAC de 6,98%. Il s'accumule facilement dans les plantes de l'environnement et p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans les animaux domestiques par la cha\u00eene alimentaire, provoquant des intoxications aigu\u00ebs ou chroniques. La toxicit\u00e9 de l'arsenic est li\u00e9e \u00e0 sa forme chimique, et la toxicit\u00e9 de l'arsenic sous diff\u00e9rentes valences et formes varie consid\u00e9rablement. L'arsenic inorganique est le plus toxique, l'arsenic m\u00e9thylique (MMA) et l'arsenic dim\u00e9thylique (DMA) le sont moins, tandis que l'arsenic b\u00e9ta\u00efne (AsB) et l'arsenic choline (AsC) ne sont pratiquement pas toxiques.
