To meet the demand for higher precision, FPI’s self-incubated subsidiary, EXPEC Technology, tackled key technical challenges to develop and manufacture the EXPEC-6500 Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) and the SUPEC-7000 Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The EXPEC-6500 ICP-OES incorporates a newly developed vertical dual-view torch technology, enabling the measurement of elements with widely varying concentrations in complex matrices. The SUPEC-7000 ICP-MS overcomes several core technical challenges in mass spectrometry, achieving trace-element analysis capability.
In Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, the EXPEC-6500 ICP-OES and SUPEC-7000 ICP-MS were used to measure elemental concentrations in snowmelt water, covering 38 elements including Al, Fe, Zn, Ni, and Pb. The stability and accuracy of the instruments provided reliable data support for assessing snow cover contamination in the region.

EXPEC-6500 ICP-OES:
- Detects up to 72 elements simultaneously.
- Obtain the full spectrum of a sample.
- Built-in library of more than 50,000 spectral lines.
- Calibration by concentration, concentration ratio, summation to 100%, standard additive method.
- Built-in automatic automatic line separation with Gaussian normal distribution calculation and IEC element line interference correction.

SUPEC-7000 ICP-MS:
- With an innovative aerodynamic simulation design that enhances the ion interface at the junction of thermal plasma and vacuum, the sensitivity of ICP-MS is significantly improved by 3 to 5 times. This advancement allows for detection limits as low as parts per trillion (ppt).
- The remarkable matrix tolerance of the SUPEC 7000 enables direct injection of high-salt samples up to 10%.
- Its exclusive design features shock absorption and all-solid-state components, ensuring optimal stability.

Recently, the Department of Physics at a national university in Kazakhstan, together with local institutions, published SCI research related to this project. This achievement serves as further strong validation of the precision and reliability of Focused Photonics’ instruments. Going forward, FPI will continue leveraging technological innovation to safeguard environmental safety worldwide.
